Consolidation of Moldovan Societal Support for the European Integration
The project “Consolidation of Moldovan societal support for the European Integration” seeks to strengthen popular support for the European integration process of Moldova. The action is a joint effort of project partners combining capacities and experiences in the field of promoting European Integration from all participating sides. The action will Increase awareness of and acceptance for the European path among the targeted population. Exploring the linkages available at national and grass roots level, the action will build a wide national platform, enabling it to show-case the benefits of EU association Agreement and DCFTA and to mobilize popular support EU integration. The initiative will also increase accountability of the Government on EU integration agenda by monitoring Moldova’s progress in implementing the EU Association Agreement.

In order to increase public awareness of and acceptance for the European path among the targeted population, the project partners will conduct a coordinated nation-wide campaign, including the following activities: produce European Integration video spots and show-casing good examples from Poland, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania. The action will will also show-case in-country examples on DCFTA benefits for small and medium enterprises. Debates on EU integration and the Campaign “Pro-Europe – Pro-Democracy” will also be part of the project’s activities.
The project will strive to foster civil society engagement in development and implementation of European integration policies, by facilitating the creation of a nationwide network of CSOs engaged to conduct coordinated public oversight and promote efficient implementation of the EU Association Agreement via support to the Secretariat of the NGO Platform for Europe, promoting the European integration of the country.
Another set of activities entail monitoring the implementation of the EU integration agenda that will set the stage for debates between civil society and government on authorities’ performance in implementing the Association Agreement. Monitoring results will be shared with Moldovan Government, Parliament and all the state institutions responsible for Association Agreement implementation; and also presented to the public in quarterly press conferences.
Total amount of the project is MDL 7,767,733.
