Regina YAN
Ms. Yan, an international development expert, joined the Eurasia Foundation in June 2000. Prior to her current position as Senior Advisor, Eurasia Foundation, Chief Operating Officer, Peterson Institute for International Economics she was the Executive Vice President of Eurasia Foundation. She also served as Eurasia Foundation's Vice President for Finance & Administration and Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Yan oversees Eurasia Foundation's general operations and managed its special projects such as the economic education and research program and the small business lending program. Working with key funding and institutional partners, she spearheaded the launch of these special projects into independent organizations such as the Economic Education and Research Consortium (EERC) which administers the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) and the Izmirlian-Eurasia Universal Credit Company. She also managed the transformation of Eurasia Foundation representative offices into indepedent local foundations. The five foundations in Russia, Central Asia, South Caucasus, Ukraine and Moldova, plus Eurasia Foundation in the US, form the Eurasia Foundation Network.
Ms. Yan is the co-chair of the Kyiv School of Economics, a world class graduate program with joint degree with the University of Houston. She is also a founding board member of the East Europe Foundations of Ukraine and Moldova. Prior to joining Eurasia Foundation, Ms. Yan managed international programs at the US National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine. From 1992 to 2000, she held various senior management positions at IREX where she provided management oversight to IREX field operations in 22 countries and launched its programs in Asia . She has worked on programs with Central/Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Asia and the Middle East. Ms. Yan received her B.A. from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington and her graduate degrees from the University of Hawaii.
